A few years ago I visited Baselworld and met up with several prominent watchmakers. The majority were targeting exclusive buyers and therefore attending the event was an absolute prerequisite. When I spoke with Maximilian Busser and Charris Yadigaroglou (Chief Communications Officer) at MB & F they said that this show equated to a large proportion of their annual revenue. That is why I only got to speak with Max briefly because his itinerary literally was full to the brim. However, for smaller watch labels this huge scale trade fair isn’t an option due to the overall expense. That is why they have to rely on different recourses. A great example can be found in Hong Kong-based company Andersmann Watch.

Over the last 12 months, Andersmann Watch’s visual profile on social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn has grown significantly. The brand name is a combination of Raymond Chan’s Chinese name (Chan Wai ‘Man’) and his 6-year old son Anders name. Certainly, this underscores how personally Raymond has invested in the company and why he is so passionate for it to succeed. However, it takes more than just determination to create a sustainable business. Fortunately, Raymond also is a great designer and is fanatical about Diver Watches because he inherited a piece from his father as a child. Within the world of horology, this is still a growth area and attracts a large demographic of buyers.

Even though Andersmann Watch is located in Hong Kong Raymond realized the value of producing all of his watches in Switzerland. Initially finding a reliable manufacturer was quite difficult but Raymond persevered and now he is formed a sustainable partnership with a supplier. Impressively all of the brand’s timepieces are affordable and in particular the Classic 300M. This stylish Diver watch has a perfectly proportioned (44mm x 51mm x 12.4mm) titanium cushion shaped case, which perfectly compliments the black textured dial. Other stylish details include large numerals (3,6,9,12) small date indication (positioned at 4 o’clock) Sapphire crystal lens and intricately decorated crown. Certainly, this watch can be worn for casual /formal occasions and for rigorous water sports activities, including diving.

At the heart of the watch is a high-quality Swiss made ETA 2892-A2 self-winding movement. The caliber comprises 21-jewels and oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. This finely decorated mechanism is also visibly showcased through the sapphire crystal exhibition case back. Functionally the Classic 300M features hours, minutes, seconds and date indication. The timepiece also has a power reserve of 42-hours and is water resistant to a depth of 300 meters.

The Classic 300M is equipped with a durable FKM black rubber strap and is priced competitively at CHF1,380 (approximately $1,407). For more information about Andersmann Watch follow this link
