Breguet Tradition 7027BB/G9/9V6

It would be fair to say that Breguet are one of the forefathers of Haute Horlogerie. As the inventors of the tourbillon & minute repeater (amongst many other notable achievements) they have left their footprint firmly in the echelons of time.  In 1999 the company, then in a dormant state was acquired by The Swatch group & revitalized by Nicolas G. Hayek. This injection of vitality has inspired the company to produce some aesthetically beautiful timepieces. The Tradition 7027BB certainly is a great example of this. I’d even elaborate further by saying this is an absolutely fantastic looking watch.

At 40mm x 12.65mm, the Tradition 7027BB is pretty diminutive by todays standards. My tastes have always gravitated towards the larger timepiece. Ultimately that is down to personal preference. On that basis I’m sure this watch will appeal to a wide demographic. Due to it’s modest proportions I felt it was very comfortable to wear & exceptionally lightweight. There was no friction or protrusion from the lugs. Basically that is down to the intuitive design & choice of material used in the construction. In my opinion this beautiful timepiece could be worn for any occasion.

The Tradition 7027BB epitomizes sophistication & oozes charm. As it’s names suggests it definitely draws inspiration from past. I love the fluted coin edge detailing on the side of the 18-carat white gold case. This certainly gives the piece a luxurious appearance without being too ostentatious. The dial displays a cornucopia of exquisite design. The chapters ring with roman numerals (displaying hours/minutes) works in harmonious rapture with the skeletonized dial. Visually I was transfixed by the open workings of mechanical movement. This complication can also be viewed through the sapphire case back. Fundamentally these delicate details are pivotal to the success of the watches design.

Breguet have equipped this magnificent timepiece with a pretty impressive engine. This mechanical marvel was entirely designed, developed & built in the company’s own workshops. Apparently this was a challenging process that spanned three years. The Caliber 507DR is a hand-wound movement comprising 14 ½ lines, 34 Jewels & oscillating at a frequency of 3Hz. Also the watch delivers a very impressive 50-hour power reserve. Each movement is individually numbered & signed which makes the piece even more exclusive.

The Tradition 7027BB exudes timeless elegance & is priced at $35,300
