Brellum Wyvern Manufacture LE.2

Incredibly the festive season is rapidly approaching and is now less than a month away. This will be my 6th Christmas in Australia and I am thoroughly looking forward to celebrating with friends. When my (now 9-year old) son first arrived on these shores he was only 2. Therefore, he has no recollection of the white Christmas’s we experienced in the UK. He is more used to day trips to the beach and shrimps on the barbie. Also, he has higher expectations concerning presents and like most kids of his age wants an Xbox or PlayStation. In contrast, I would be more than happy with a beautiful timepiece. Certainly, there are several to choose from including the marvellous limited edition (23 pieces) Wyvern Manufacture LE.2 from Brellum.

Previously I have written two reviews about Brellum’s  Duobox Chronometer and Duobox Pandial. Both are fantastic watches that a have a very broad appeal. That is why I was very interested to hear about their latest release appropriately called the Wyvern Manufacture LE.2. I am a huge admirer of the brand and what the owner Sébastien Muller has achieved. Sébastien is a 4th generation watchmaker that is continuing the family legacy. With over 25-years of experience working for other prestigious companies, it seemed a natural progression to establish his own label.

Aesthetically the Wyvern Manufacture LE.2 has the same classical appearance as the Duobox Chronometer and Duobox Pandial. The watch is available with an anthracite, navy or white opaline dial, depending on your preference. All three are equally as distinctive and perfectly compliment the 42.50mm x 9.50mm highly polished 316L stainless steel case. Other highlights include raised Roman Numeral indexes, domed sapphire crystal and a stylish retrograde power reserve indication.

At the heart of the watch is an exquisite manual winding double barrel movement. The in-house manufactured Caliber BR-18 (Officially Chronometer Certified by the COSC) comprises 34-jewels and oscillates at a frequency of 28’800 vibrations per hour. The mechanism utilises the finest Swiss decorative techniques including Perlage and Côte de Genève. Other features include meticulously hand polished bridges with blued steel screws and sequentially imprinted serial numbers (01/23 to 23/23). This entire splendour is visible through the sapphire crystal exhibition case back. Functionally the Wyvern Manufacture LE.2 features hours, minute, second and power reserve indication. The timepiece is also is water resistant to a depth of 100 metres and has an impressive 120 hours power reserve.

The Wyvern Manufacture LE.2 has a black/brown Alligator strap with matching 316L stainless steel buckle. This watch is available to purchase at a competitive price of CHF 3’990 (approximately $4’014) directly from Brellum
