HYT H2

The exceptionally talented Vincent Perriard & Lucien Vouillamoz established HYT in 2012 although the original idea dates back to a decade earlier. This amazing concept has evolved through years of research & development culminating in the production of a first prototype. These incredible visionaries realised their dream with the formation of the world’s first Hydro Mechanical watch. The HI amalgamates the metaphysics of fluids with high horology.

The H2 adopts the same cutting edge technology as its predecessor combined with a radical redesign. The results are utterly astonishing & highly original. Visually the layout of this watch has been reconfigured to give this extraordinary piece a whole new dynamic. Aesthetically the pistons & fluorescent fluid ducts are integral to the success of the design. These elements are pretty mind blowing. I especially like the new skeleton dial exposing the watch’s movement.

At 48.8mm x 17.9mm this is a substantial timepiece that I feel will definitely make a bold statement. The case is made of made of durable lightweight titanium with a superior DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. This material should make the watch feel comfortable to wear. Realistically the exceedingly innovative design won’t appeal to the more conservative tastes.

Jean-François Mojon at Chronode has developed this movement exclusively for HYT. This exclusive mechanical manual winding calibre comprises 28 jewels & delivers a phenomenal 8-day power reserve. Functionally the H2 is suitably well equipped with retrograde fluidic hours, minutes with jumping hand & temperature indicator.

This remarkable timepiece has a rubberised anthracite alligator strap with black DLC titanium pin buckle. Limited to a modest 50 pieces the H2 is priced at: $129,000.
