I have never travelled to Mexico and like most people have heard mixed reports about the region. Nevertheless, it is an area of outstanding beauty and boasts some of the most innovative and coveted residential homes in the world. One of the countries most notable architectural practices called GLR Arquitectos is owned and operated by Gilberto L. Rodríguez.
Impressively Gilberto L. Rodríguez attended Harvard University is recognized in over 30 states for his contribution to innovative building design. This has included several commercial projects and many contemporary residential homes. As well as his private work Gilberto is also a professor of projects ay the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. This means he can nurture the talents of a whole new generation of hungry architects.
Out of all the residentail properties that Gilberto L. Rodríguez has designed one of my personal favourites is Casa BC. This dwelling is situated in the picturesque location of Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. Due to its elevated position it also has far reaching views of the Nacional Park of Chipinque. Incredibly this imposing structure offers the owners 1,450 sqaure metres of luxury living. What makes the residence so incredible is the distinctive geometric cantilevered design, which makes a bold statement on the landscape.
Internally the Casa BC is presented to a remarkably high standard. Truly this house is a contemporary masterpiece that has been designed for the most discerning client. I love the broad spectrum of material like concrete, hardwood, marble and glass. Other features include a bespoke glass staircase’s, state of the art kitchen and custom made joinery. Outdoors the property has perfectly manicured landscaped gardens and a large swimming pool.
