Recently the Australian government have implemented massive changes to their immigration system. That is why I feel so lucky that I was officially recognized as a citizen of this fine country a few months ago. Certainly in my mind there is no doubt that this is the best place in the world to live in. For example, the climate is beautiful, the food sensational and the wine is totally indulgent. Due to the scale of this continent there are also a diverse range of interesting places to visit. One of my favourite destination spots has to be Port Douglas, located in North Queensland.
A couple of years ago I was privileged enough to visit Port Douglas and enjoy its many amenities. This place has a vibrant social scene brimming full of trendy café’s, bars and restaurants. It also boasts some magnificent residential properties like ‘Tanamera’ located on the prestigious Island Point Road. This phenomenal two story Asian inspired home occupies a 2446 square metre plot and offers potential buyers luxury on an unrivalled scale.
Too often real estate agents glorify houses by exaggerating specifications (in their brochures) to attract potential buyers. However, this supreme residential home is the real deal and it’s not surprising at all that it won a coveted Master Builders award. Whether you are seeking a primary family home or a luxury holiday retreat ‘Tanamera’ ticks all the boxes. It also occupies a wonderful secluded hilltop location that maximizes spectacular panoramic views of the ocean and Great Barrier Reef.
It is easy to see how ‘Tanamera’ took four years from planning to completion. The level of décor is uncompromising and only the finest quality of materials has been used in construction. The expansive living area (with vaulted timber cathedral ceiling) is adorned with luxurious Italian marble. As is the extravagant sweeping central staircase with access to the three king size bedrooms (which all have en suite bathrooms). Other magnificent features include a Bali style designer kitchen, cantilevered day lounge with uninterrupted hinterland views and Tree house sanctuary with ‘sky’ spa pool.
Outside the property has many fantastic entertainment and relaxation zones that cater to even the most discerning tastes. ‘Tanamera’ also has an Asian ‘wet kitchen’ with gas teppanyaki tray and incredible heated infinity edge pool. Truly this dwelling offers resort style living in its purest distilled form.
