Literally on a daily basis I receive press releases from watch companies asking me to promote their products. The majority of times it coincides with their crowdfunding campaign so their aim is to generate a lot of interest. However, when I visit their websites to view their timepieces the designs are normally a massive let down. So many new labels produce cheaper and generic versions of Rolex models. Sure there is a market for these affordable alternatives but I am personally stimulated by more original creations. That is why the X-Series from Extri really stimulated my interest.
Essentially Extri Holdings is a manufacturing company that produces affordable fashion watches. Presently they have got a range of different collections called Expert, Extreme and Exceed. Taking into consideration all of these timepieces are well designed and well built the cost (under $500) is a pretty attractive proposition.
Recently Extri launched a new line called the X-Series. My favourite in the range is the natural steel model (X3016SBMS), because I feel it has the most striking appearance. Dimensionally this watch is much smaller than I would personally wear and has case diameter of only 40mm. Nevertheless, there are a substantial amount of male and unisex buyers that will love these classical proportions. Certainly, this a very comfortable and lightweight watch to wear. That is why I feel it could be worn for most occasions both formal and casual. The only exception would be diving and water sports because the timepiece only has a 3ATM rating.
Visually the X-Series has a very attractive and high quality appearance, especially considering the $119 retail price point. Essentially the innovative X design of black dial has been inspired by the constant circulation of windmill blades. This characteristic was conceived when one of the creative team from Extri visited Zaanse Schans, near Amsterdam in Holland last year. Other features include retrograde hours/minutes, mineral glass lens, an ornate crown and stylish steel mesh bracelet. At the heart of the watch is reliable Japanese Miyota quartz movement.
