Master & Dynamic Collaborations

In the world of luxury, collaborations are becoming more and more popular. Many brands have realised that partnering with similar aligned companies can pay big dividends. Certainly, as a designer, I can see the merit in this strategy especially in the current climate. A great example is US-based audio manufacturer Master & Dynamic managed (co-owned) by the enigmatic Jonathan Levine. Previously, I have featured many of their products on Total Design Reviews including the sensational MA770 concrete speaker co-created by acclaimed architect David Adjaya. Recently, they have made some very interesting headphones with some real big hitters.

MH40 Wireless Nike KD13

The MH40 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones were the first pair of headphones that Master & Dynamic developed. This product offers Bluetooth connectivity and is made from premium materials like coated canvas, anodized aluminium and lambskin leather. For this limited edition series they have collaborated with the mega sports brand, Nike. Within the collection, my favourite is the KD13, which is based on the best-selling basketball shoe. I actually own a pair of these sneakers and love the bold graphic imagery.

Master & Dynamic x Automobili Lamborghini

In the world of high-end car manufacturers, names don’t come much bigger than Automobili Lamborghini. For this exciting range Master & Dynamic have incorporated different elements and materials from the iconic Italian supercar brand into the design. My choice from the series would be the flagship MW65 models with the Lamborghini motif and Alcantara-wrapped memory foam ear pads. These premium active noise-cancelling wireless headphones are exceptionally lightweight and offer brilliant sound quality. Therefore, they are the perfect companion for long journeys.

Master & Dynamic for Leica 0.95

For this collaboration Master & Dynamic have joined forces with iconic camera brands Leica. In particular, this series pays homage to the Leica Noctilux – M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH, which is the world’s fastest aspherical lens. One of the products in the range is the MW07 true wireless headphones, that are fabricated from steel and acetate. This audio device is exceptionally compact and only weighs around 9 grams. Also, connectivity via Bluetooth is seamless and the sound quality is also superb. As a final touch, the earbud comes in a stylish presentation case that also doubles up as a charging station.
