It’s amazing to think that we are entering the third year of COVID. This global pandemic has had a profound effect on many people’s lives. Most of the news and media outlets focus mainly on the negatives. However, during these challenging times, it has illustrated how adaptable and resilient we are. In fact, it has encouraged an entrepreneurial spirit I’ve never seen before. On a personal level, I’ve just completed two books including a second edition of ‘Luxury Design for Living’. Included are some exceptionally expensive cars, homes and watches. There are also brilliantly designed more affordable products like the MA770 Concrete speaker from Master & Dynamics.
I’m a huge admirer of Master & Dynamics and personally feel the company have changed the face of modern audio equipment. Over the last few years, I have had numerous conversations with brand owner Jonathan Levine. We both share a passion for modernistic design and the use of contemporary materials. Certainly, the MA770 Concrete speaker highlights this point perfectly because it’s co-designed by acclaimed British architect Sir David Adjaye. Continuing in the same innovative spirit Master & Dynamic have just released a brilliant active noise-cancelling true wireless earphone called the MW08 Sport.
I’ve been very privileged to review many Master & Dynamic products like the MW65, MW60 (now discontinued) MH40 and MW07 headphones. All of these products display one common link and that is outstanding sound quality. For that reason, I was confident that the new MW08 Sport earphones wouldn’t disappoint. I’ve been comprehensively testing these earphones over the last week and was astonished by the clarity of sound. Certainly, in a busy gym, these earphones cancelled out the surrounding noise.
If you are in the market for some exceptional earphones and are tempted to go with Apple (AirPods Pro) I would recommend considering the MW08 Sport as a viable alternative. This high-quality audio product features shatter-resistant Sapphire Glass, 11mm Beryllium acoustic drivers and external aluminium antennas. The latter enables true wireless Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity with a range of 100ft/30m. I opted to review the black version but the MW08 Sport is also available in blue, green and silver sapphire. As a perfect finishing touch the earphones are presented in a cool black Kevlar® case.
